Romania industrial sales up 4.7 pct in January-July

Romania’s industrial sales (in nominal terms) were up by 4.7 percent in the first seven months of 2013, against the same period last year, according to data released today the National Institute of Statistics.

The increase was generated by a 5 percent increase in the manufacturing sector while the mining and quarrying sector decreased by 4 percent.

In July 2013, industrial sales were up by 5.2 percent against the previous month, Once again, the increase was generated by the manufacturing industry which increased by 5.4 percent. The mining and quarrying sector decreased by one percentage point.

Total industrial sales were up 8.9 percent in July 2013 compared to the same month last year.
