Various Brands and GRID, the retail group with 100% Romanian capital, highlights the financial results achieved in 2022 and reveals their ambitious plans for this year. Both brands made progress in the previous year and aim to continue this trajectory in 2023.

With a growth rate of approximately 53% compared to 2021, the total turnover of the company has experienced a significant rise. In comparison to 26 million euros in total turnover (22 million euros net revenue) in 2021, the figure amounted to 40 million euros (33,7 million net revenue) in 2022.

In addition to the positive results in the post-pandemic period, the retailer has also seen a significant expansion of its store network. At the end of 2021, Various Brands and GRID operated a total of 40 stores.

We are delighted to announce that in 2022 we reached 44 stores, which demonstrates a steady growth and a strong desire to meet the increasingly demanding requirements of our customers. This expansion of the store network included the opening of a Various Brands store in Satu Mare, the opening of three new GRID stores in Brașov, Cluj, and Constanța, and the relocation of the Various Brands concept store in Craiova. In addition, right at the end of 2021, we managed to open our first store outside the country, in Bulgaria, under the GRID brand. We are dedicated to provide our customers with a unique shopping experience and to develop the store network in a sustainable manner. We are also aware of the importance of our relationships with our partners. They are an essential component in the growth and reputation of our business. For this reason, we constantly strive to strengthen and expand our collaboration with our audience’s favorite brands,” declares co-owner Nicolae Popa.

To meet the ever-changing needs of customers and stay ahead in the market, the retailer invested approximately 800,000 euros in 2022 in opening new locations and improving the current stores of both brands, GRID and Various Brands. Additionally, they allocated 200,000 euros for the automation and digitization of processes in the stores, aiming to achieve new standards of brand awareness and innovation and to maintain and develop relationships with supplier partners.

In 2023, Various Brands and GRID intend to continue this upward trend and strengthen their position in the retail market.

Our plans include expanding the store network with a minimum of 4 new locations in Romania, in key cities, to be closer to our customers. At the same time, we aim to expand our store network with 4-5 locations for Various Brands and GRID in Bulgaria and venture into other international markets to expand both brands reputation,” says co-owner Bogdan Nania.

Another key business objective for 2023 is to continue the digitalization of processes in Various Brands and GRID stores, as well as aligning the online platforms and with the latest technologies in the market. The ultimate goal is to provide consumers with an easier and more accessible buying experience both on the desktop and on mobile devices. Thus, the retailer aims for innovation and efficiency in its operations, facilitating interaction with existing and potential customers interested in the sport and sportswear products sold.

Various Brands and GRID continue to assert themselves in the retail industry by learning from past experiences and focusing on the future, both on a national level and in the targeted related markets.
