Turkish footwear group Sportek Ayakkabıcılık have entered Romania through the children’s shoes brand Vicco.
The first Romanian Vicco store has opened in Plaza Mall in Bucharest.
The Turkish group, based in Istanbul, has an annual production capacity of 1.5 million pairs of footwear under this brand, sold through 25 concept stores and another 1,100 retail outlets.
Sportek launched the Vicco brand in 2005 and the production is carried out using advanced technologies from a factory set on an area of 6,000 sqm.
Abdullah Kiğılı (75), the head of the company, is the former president of the Turkish Football Federation.
