Lobyco – a Scandinavian software company owned by Coop Denmark – has made a substantial deal with the Romanian retail giant Profi Rom Food, which operates around 1600 supermarkets in Romania.
The deal with Lobyco involves the purchase of software solutions that makes it easier for customers to plan and purchase their groceries.
This software is the same that makes up the Coop Denmark App – the largest and most popular app in the Danish grocery retail market. With this on their phone, Danish shoppers can see daily personal offers, skip the queue in the stores and pay with Scan & Pay, and a range of other things.
The first version of Profi’s new app solution, officially launched April 1st, contains a new digital loyalty platform to handle new and legacy members, games, digital receipts, unique app offers and promotions, and digital leaflets. In the short to medium term, the app will be expanded further with a range of value-adding features, that will win more loyal customers and bring Profi in front of the Romanian grocery market.
”In Lobyco we’re proud to collaborate with one of Europe’s fastest-growing grocery retailers in such a fundamental area as loyalty software. Besides, it’s an important acknowledgment of our expertise and all the great work made by our colleagues in Copenhagen, Bucharest, and Lviv. The interest is booming for our software, and we expect more international collaborations in the near future”, says Lobyco CEO, Jan Madsen.
The Profi management, led by CEO Pawel Musial, is equally excited about the collaboration:
”Our ambition to create a strong digital ecosystem now becomes a reality. With the new Profi mobile app at its center, our platform will offer great benefits to Romanian consumers as well as our stores and staff. Joined by our experienced partner Lobyco, we are confident to take the digital lead in Romanian grocery retail going forward”, Musial states.
Lobyco, which was founded in 2020, employs roughly 170 employees at the start of 2022.
