With this project, the retailer wants to help people practice their favorite sports and discover new ones, offers the best quality-price ratio thorughout the year and makes the transition from the classic loyalty program to one adapted to today’s needs.
“We truly believe in our mission, to make sports accessible to as many people as possible. Accessibility means to be there where and when you are needed, making everything available to the client. According to Eurobarometer results regarding sports and physical activities, we know today that only 37 percent of Romanians practice sports. We want to raise this number to 60 percent in the next 5 years, facilitating the user-equipment-practice relation,” said Lacramioara Rosca, marketing director Decathlon Romania.
The new loyalty program continues to transform each transaction into loyalty points, which are valid for 12 months since the last transaction was registered in an user’s Decathlon account. Moreover, in the new platform, starting January, users can opt for different sports partners from Romanian cities and for different types of sports, considering the number of points in their accounts. The users over 18 y.o. can also apply, in store or online, for a loyalty card that brings them a series of advantages.
In Romania, Decathlon has over 1,300 collaborators and a network of 23 stores plus the online platform. Last year, the company inaugurated its first logistics center in Romania, which has the mission to supply 3 South-East European states (Romania, Bulgaria and Greece).
