Carrefour Romania’s sales totaled EUR 227 million in the first quarter of this year, up 3.6 percent (at current exchange rates) and 6.6 percent (at constant exchange rates) against the same period of last year, according to a company report.
In 2011, the French retailer reported a EUR 1.18 billion turnover in Romania, up 4.8 percent y-o-y, due to the opening of new outlets. Carrefour Romania now operated 52 supermarkets, 25 hypermarkets and three proximity stores.
Carrefour’s global sales went up by 1.5 percent in the first quarter of this year, reaching EUR 22.5 billion.
