Cargus has constantly invested in the development of the click & collect service under the Cargus SHIP & GO brand, successively increasing the number of locations, either by opening its own points or by partnering with local businesses. The investment in the proximity points network is a response to the needs of consumers, who expect deliveries not only to the address, but also to nearby places, where they can conveniently pick up their parcels, at any time of the day. In short, they expect dynamism in delivery and flexibility.

Cargus SHIP & GO network reached 3,000 locations this month, most of which are PUDO (pick-up and drop-off) points, thus covering over 750 cities in Romania. These include also the 150 locations in Bucharest of the locker type, a solution launched by the courier company in September. Cargus lockers are present in easily accessible areas – retail networks, gas stations, but also in residential spaces.

The rapid expansion of the SHIP & GO network at the national level is also due to the strategic partnership that Cargus has with PayPoint, company specialized in payment solutions – consumers can pick up their parcels from more than 2,200 PayPoint points throughout the country.

“A complete experience also means constant investments in the diversification of delivery options. Over the past two years, we have made consistent efforts to develop the SHIP & GO network, so that more and more consumers can benefit from control, flexibility and freedom when choosing where to have their package delivered. It is one of our strategic directions, along with investments in logistics and the development of an ecosystem that integrates a multitude of consumer-centered solutions, from payment to returns,” says Anda Bucșan, Cargus Chief Customer Officer.

The counties with the most PUDO proximity delivery points are: Bucharest with 300 locations, Cluj, Timiș, Iași, Brașov, Constanța, each with approximately 150 locations.

The potential volume of parcels delivered in the SHIP & GO network is 75,000 parcels/day. In addition, the proximity delivery network has a greater schedule flexibility, which means that most parcels are received by the final recipients within a maximum of 36 hours from the moment they arrive at the SHIP & GO points.

Delivery to PUDO points is also much faster. Recipients benefit from delivery on the next working day from the moment the Cargus courier picked up the package from the sender. They then have up to 5 working days to pick up their parcels, if they choose a SHIP & GO point as the delivery destination from the start. Moreover, PUDO points offer buyers a complete range of payment methods: by card at the location, online via Pay by Link and the Cargus mobile application, but also cash – the payment options differ according to the profile of the location.

“We are part of the e-Commerce ecosystem and a partner recognized for the quality of its services. Therefore, we invest in simplifying the online shopping process, offering merchants a multitude of tools that can be used as an argument for attracting new customers and for the loyalty of existing ones – from the national proximity network to payment solutions”, adds Anda Bucșan.

The SHIP & GO network plays an important role in home deliveries and as part of dynamic forwarding, because it offers flexibility and speed in sending and picking up parcels. Deliveries can be dynamically managed and redirected to a preferred SHIP & GO point through the Cargus Mobile application – from the individual Cargus account, through the landing page on the website or directly through the courier.
