Black Friday Libris.ro: The largest order: 508 books, worth almost RON 10,000

Libris.ro, the largest online bookstore in Romania, recorded in this year’s edition of Black Friday an increase of 32% in sales compared to the same campaign in 2019. Also, the average value of the order increased by almost 20%. The best-selling author is a Romanian, Ioana Chicet-Macoveiciuc, with several titles for children, but also fiction.

This year’s offer included over 1 million volumes, in Romanian and English, discounted by up to 90%. More than half of the orders were placed from mobile devices, and a third of customers chose to pay by card.

The value of the order increased by 19% compared to the previous year, and most sales were registered in Bucharest, Timiș and Cluj.

The largest order placed on Black Friday was worth 9,537 lei and included 508 books. The order came from Valea Mărului, Galați County and is the largest order – in terms of value and volume – registered so far in a Black Friday campaign on Libris.ro.

The best-selling authors in the campaign were Ioana Chicet-Macoveiciuc -known as The Urban Princess, Jill Tomlinson, also an author of children’s books, respectively Mo Yan, author of fiction and Nobel Prize winner.

The sales recorded in the Black Friday campaign were in line with our estimates, with pleasant surprises in the top authors. For the first time since we run Black Friday campaigns, the top authors are dominated by children’s book writers. It is a good sign regarding the children’s interest in reading – said Laura Țeposu, CEO and co-founder of Libris.ro.

The most popular categories were Fiction, Children’s Books and Personal Development.

50% of the orders placed on Friday have already been sent for delivery and Libris.ro estimates show that all orders will be delivered by November 18.

The investments we made in the warehouse and the steps to streamline the whole process prove to be extremely important, especially in these busy periods. Black Friday is the annual performance test, which assures us that we are ready for the end of the year, a period marked by a significant increase in orders due to the winter holidays, Laura Țeposu also specified.
