Avi Compact estimates that it will close the year with an increase of over 20 percent compared to last year, when the turnover was 7.8 million euros. For 14 years, the company has been the largest Daikin distributor in Romania, with a market share of 20% of all the equipment. Avi Compact offers the full range of Daikin equipment, from VRV systems to chillers, rooftops and treatment units. In addition to quality and reliability, another major competitive advantage of Daikin is that the factories are in Europe and delivery terms are much shorter compared to deliveries arriving from Asia, with terms ranging from 4-6 months.

The Avi Compact portfolio consists of the residential segment which brings 60% to the turnover, the commercial segment with 30% and the industrial segment with 10%.

Among the most important clients this year are: the ELDOMIR Lacul Sărat Hotel Complex, the Decebal underground car park (ventilation and smoke extraction installations) and two residential complexes in the north of the Capital.

Of the product ranges in the portfolio, the highest increase (over 50%) was recorded by heat pumps. They are a good solution for houses that are difficult to connect to the gas network  (new holiday homes or located in more isolated areas, guesthouses, with a maximum area of 300 square meters). In addition, the cost of gas is rising faster than the cost of electricity.

Heat pumps operate with 65% renewable energy extracted from the air and 35% electricity, falling into the A +++ energy class. Heat pumps provide summer cooling, winter heating and year-round hot water.

The summer season saw a 30% increase in air conditioning sales compared to the same period last year. The devices in the economy range were the best-selling (Daikin Sensira), followed by Daikin multisplit systems for middle-income individuals and real estate developers. Residential customers choose especially air conditioners with high energy efficiency and wi-fi remote control.

”The pandemic brought major changes in the company’s portfolio, doubling the residential segment, compared to 2019. I estimate that the heat pump segment will increase next year, amid rising gas prices. They are much more popular in Western European countries, mainly due to the subsidies granted. The corporate segment stagnated in 2020, and the increasingly difficult financing terms, as well as the longer terms for the supply of construction materials will lead to a decrease in corporate projects launched next year.”, says Florin Rădulescu, founder of Avi Compact.

The maintenance of air conditioners has increased significantly, especially during the pandemic. For the corporate area, the segment increased by 5% in the second half of last year, and in 2021 it will bring an additional 10% increase. The main customers come from the pharmaceutical and banking sectors.

With 18 years of activity, over 500 reference projects and national coverage, Avi Compact is one of the most important players on the HVAC market. For 14 years it has been the largest Daikin distributor in Romania, but it also has other brands in its portfolio, such as Samsung, Mitsubishi, Viessmann, Vaillant.
