Cultural association GRADUSART holds between October 31st – November 4th 2017, the second edition of the International Festival of the Storytelling Art „SUNTEM POVESTI” (We Are Stories).

An international event, the festival aims to bring to the public’s attention the importance and benefits of the art of storytelling, reaffirming humanity’s classic values, as well as essential marks of the understanding between people. For this year’s edition, the organizers friendship as the main theme, due to the value it has for the inter-human relationships and for the universal good.

Friendship represents one of the most serious reasons for loving life,” said Mircea Eliade. Apart from the positive effect it has over every soul, friendship reconfirms its inestimable value in our century, more and more frightened by conflicts, disruption and alienation. Unequaled from the perspective of the benefits that it brings to the relationships between people, friendship is compared at the “We are stories” Festival with a jewel.

This year’s edition of the festival includes a workshop-press conference, storytelling workshops in schools, and a storytelling, music and magic show. The five days of storytelling will take place at the Central Universitary Library, The Verona Carturesti Library, The International Theoretical Informatics High School in Bucharest, the Matei Basarab Bucharest College and The Excelsior Theater.

There are studies that prove the efficiency of the art of telling stories, those being considered the strongest communication tool between people.

Loved and famous worldwide storytellers will be talking about friendship in an expressive storytelling art language: Jeff Gere (Hawaii), Anne Glover (Canada), John Mukeni Namai (Kenya), Alicia DongJoo Bang (South Korea). Romania is represented by Giorgiana Popan (Arad), Leon Magdan and Adriana Ene (Bucharest).

Each one of us is…. STORY. Wouldn’t be a shame to remain untold? We know that the people are mesmerized by them even since they arrive on this world. Alongside the passion they have for listening to stories, we also want to rise the people’s joy of recounting them, as well as the trust of transmitting them!” said Adriana Ene, festival’s director and founding member of the Cultural Association GRADUSART.
