The Institute and ING Bank presents this year in between 20 and 28th of May the anniversary 5th edition of Romanian Design Week, the biggest manifestation that proposes itself to promote the Romanian design. Like each year, Romanian Design Week will include in its program, beside the central exhibition organized by The Institute, also a circuit of events and spaces that promote the design and all of its disciplines, dedicated both to the big public and the professionals.

This year over 30 events developed in the period 20-28th of May will transform Bucharest in the capital of design. An important center of activity will be the Creative Neighborhood, the most recent The Institute project, where will be taking place over half of these events.

Each year we are delighted by the large number of partners and friends that want to be part of RDW and to bring it value and content. We are thanking them that they are supporting us in promoting the Romanian design. Another interesting aspect is the fact that these events take place in the Creative Neighborhood, because this is showing us that the premises that we’ve started from are correct,” said Andrei Gavrila-Bortun, CEO The Institute.

The central exhibition reunites this year 200 of the best projects realized in the last year by 150 designers, illustrators and Romanian architects. In a surface of 4000 square meters, the main space of the exhibition is found at the Creative Neighborhood, at 45, Grigore Cobalcescu Street. The design of the central RDW 2017 space is signed, again, by the architect Attila Kim and the building is put at RDW’s disposal by Mega Image and will host in the future a new Concept Store.

RDW Main Venue hosts also this year a series of international presences, such as satellite exhibitions organized by the Romanian Design Week partners. Moreover, as it does each year, the central Romanian Design Week exhibition will bring into people’s attention the best design projects of last year in the fields of: architecture, urbanism, object design, hybrid design.

The Institute projects enjoy the support of Absolut, glo iFuse, Tastemakers and Ciuc.
