The previous year has registered an over 100 percent increase in audience for the Cinema City chain across Romania, compared to 2009, reports New Age Media, the media direction of the chain. Over 3.09 million tickets were sold in Cinema City multiplexes across the country, after an audience rate of 1.53 million spectators was reached in 2009.

On what concerns the entire group, a growth of 11.1 percent has been registered, as a total of 30.5 million went to Cinema City cinemas in 2010, from across the six countries that the group operates in.

The New Age Media portfolio currently covers locations in Bucharest, Cluj, Timisoara, Iasi, Bacau, Pitesti, Arad and Baia Mare, with a total of 88 screens, 59 percent of multiplex cinemas in Romania. Two new multiplex cinemas will be added to the New Age Media portfolio in 2011, after two new openings in Braila and Targu Mures. New Age Media also operates in Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic.
