Romanian law firm gets the nod at the Lawyer European 2010 awards

Romanian law firm Tuca Zbarcea & Asociatii won the “Law Firm of the Year: Eastern Europe & The Balkans” award at this year’s edition of the Lawyer European awards. Wolf Theiss came highly commended in this category, while Kalo & Associates, Kinstellar, local NNDKP, Potamitisvekrisa and Schoenherr were shortlisted in this category. Florentin Tuca, managing partner with Tuca Zbarcea & Asociatii, was shortlisted in the European Managing Partner of the Year category, which was won by Manuel Martin of Gomez-Acebo & Pombo.

Salans was declared the European Law Firm of the Year, while Kinstellar won the Emerging Law Firm of the Year. Lex Mundi was named Law Firm Network of the Year, and Wolf Theiss won the award for Central Europe. Grau & Angulo was named the European Niche Law Firm of the Year, and Assistenza Legale came highly commended in this category. Bird & Bird of Spain won in the Best Overseas Office category.

Individual country awards were granted to another ten law firms at the ceremony, held at the Hotel Adlon Kempinski in Berlin on September 23rd. The event added two new awards this year: Law Firm Network of the Year and Emerging Law Firm of the Year. The awards are given by a panel of judges made up of managing partners at private practice firms, and in-house counsel at multinational companies.
