The Romanian Government’s spokesperson Nelu Barbu said on Tuesday that Romania still has to transpose 45 European directives into legislation. He also said that three infringement procedures have been closed by the European Commission, while the EC was notified of 13 transposed directives.
During the government meeting on Tuesday, the Executive discussed the status of actions taken by the EC against Romania for failing to comply with EU directives.
“It is a note the government acknowledged in today’s session, it’s a normal procedure. This note contains information that is already known in the public space, so we know at this moment what directives we’ve implemented and which ones still need to be transposed. (…) In the following period, each minister who needs to take action to implement European directives will take all the necessary action.”
