The minister of finance, Eugen Teodorovici, says that legal changes are under discussion on the way in which the fiscal legislation is amended in Romania.
Teodorovici said the government has started to submit letters to professional and business associations to get feedback on improvement to the Fiscal Code.
“In Autumn, we should reach an agreement on the two texts. At the end of the year we close this and starting 2019 nobody should touch these documents,” said the minister during BR’s second Country Focus Community Forum.
“The government only to simplify and only the Parliament to decide what to add (on Fiscal Code – e.n.),” said the minister.
He added that the legislation regarding tax evasion will be updated this summer.
“We have thousands of files sent by ANAF to courts that wait for years for ‘aberrations’. Firms were closed in an unjustified manner. People from courts are detached in ANAF and sent files to the court,” said the official.
The PPP law is approved, financing can be started. Nobody says there is any “flaw” in legislation.
“I will never say no on investments,” said the minister. “I will cut heavy any unjustified expense.”
