The largest bakery and pre-baked pastry factory in Romania, La Lorraine Romania, has invested EUR 12.5 million in the Campia Turzii unit in a new production line. The products made here will reach both the domestic and export markets. In this way, the plant in Campia Turzii is kept in the top of the most modern and technologized factories on the continent.

The fifth production line will be dedicated to high quality rustic bread, made with nutritious ingredients such as mayonnaise and seeds. It is almost fully automated, with a capacity of 160,000 products per day. The line is equipped with an aerosol dispenser which helps in better hydration of the dough, the result being a better bread, a higher quality of the core and the bark, thus offering a long freshness.

The thermal imaging cameras help to identify the shape and allow a precise and uniform growth of all the products. The fifth line also impresses with the existence of three state-of-the-art mixers for kneading the dough, which mimics the movements of the kneading made by artisan bakers. The packing system is technological, the preparation of the boxes and labeling being done automatically, the packing speed being of two loaves per second. The line is already functional, and the products made in the Câmpia Turzii factory will reach the domestic market as well as export to countries such as (Serbia, Bulgaria, Hungary and Greece).

60 jobs by the end of 2020

The investment led to the creation of new jobs. Thus, by the end of this year, 20 people will be hired, and by the end of next year another 40 operators will be employed. The bakery and pre-baked pastry factory will need people with a high level of technical training, as well as fresh graduates from vocational schools or high schools with a technical profile or talented young people who want to learn and grow in the La Lorraine Romania team,

“This investment strengthens our position as the leading producer of pre-baked bread and pastry in Romania. Our country has been chosen for its geographical positioning and because it can cover a large market in this region. We are constantly trying to find out what the market trends and needs are, and this new line responds to the wishes of consumers who will produce fresh, nutritionally rich maize and seeds that have the taste of artisan bread,” said Razvan Bosomoiu, General Manager at Lorraine Romania.

Lorraine Romania is one of the main suppliers of pre-baked products on the Romanian market: in 2018, 36,000 tons of frozen pre-baked bakery and frozen pastry products were made in the Câmpia Turzii factory. 30,000 tons reached the domestic market, and 6,000 tons reached export. All the products obtained in the La Lorraine factory are made from flour and other Romanian raw materials of the highest quality, the factory being certified with the highest standard of quality management and food safety, IFS. As a recognition of the quality of the products, this year La Lorraine Romania officially became a supplier of the Royal House of Romania.
