KFC and Taco Bell expand to Sibiu Shopping City

The KFC and Taco Bell brands are expanding to Sibiu through the Spherra Franchise Group, the owner of the two franchises on the local market. The new units are located within Shopping City Sibiu center, in the food court area.

The KFC restaurant stretches over an area of ​​170 sqm and provides a dedicated team of 35 employees working in a modern space, equipped with menu-based digital boards and kiosks in the restaurant, designed to facilitate the ordering process.

The new Taco Bell unit has an area of ​​178 sqm with a capacity of 36 seats indoors at Hub Tables or Low Couch Seating tables and approximately 60 seats on the terraces inside and outside the shopping center. The design of the restaurant follows the Global Explorer model, with digital board menus and an open kitchen that allows fans to see how food is prepared. By opening this restaurant, Taco Bell has created 33 jobs, the new team is ready to provide customers with delicious products, inspired Mexican, such as: Crunchy Taco, Cheesy Bacon Fries Burrito, Quesadilla, Crunchwrap Supreme, Nachos Supreme or churros.

We decided to expand KFC and Taco Bell in Sibiu, because demographically, the city has grown and also has high tourist potential. It is important for us to offer quality to the highest standards of those who go beyond the threshold, which is why we are constantly investing in restaurants at the service, design and digitization level,” said Mark Hilton, CEO at Sphera Franchise Group.

Sphera Franchise Group is the largest group in the food service industry in Romania and owns the franchise companies KFC, Pizza Hut, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell brands. In Romania, the KFC restaurant chain counts 77 restaurants in both Bucharest and other cities such as Timisoara, Arad, Botosani, Cluj-Napoca, Oradea, Suceava, Pitesti or Brasov. KFC Romania also operates two restaurants in Chisinau, Moldova and ten in Italy.

Currently, there are over 360 Taco Bell restaurants in 27 non-US countries, and the international expansion target of the brand covers 1,000 locations by 2022. The company and its franchises operate over 7,000 restaurants that generate sales of over 9 billion dollars. The brand’s goal is to become a company with global sales of $ 15 billion and 9,000 global restaurants by 2022.

At the local level, Taco Bell was launched in Romania in October 2017 and currently has 6 locations: 4 locations in Bucharest, AFI Cotroceni shopping centers, Park Lake Shopping Center, Mega Mall and Baneasa Shopping Center, 1 location in Cluj Napoca the shopping center Iulius Mall Cluj Napoca, and 1 location in Sibiu, shopping center Shopping City Sibiu.
