Auchan Romania reaffirms its title as a “Top Employer” in 2024

Auchan Romania has been designated as a Top Employer for the year 2024, a certification provided by the independent organization Top Employers Institute from the Netherlands. With over 7200 employees, the company is one of the largest employers in the country and offers an inclusive working environment with numerous promotion opportunities and development programs. According to internal research, nearly 90% of employees voluntarily recommend Auchan as an employer, a percentage that exceeds the retail market average, according to IPSOS.

This year, the independent Top Employers Institute awarded the distinction following a rigorous analysis of the company’s human resources processes, facilities provided, and development opportunities available to employees at all levels. The distinction obtained is awarded annually, with the independent Top Employers Institute certifying the best employers in the world. The Institute analyzes companies based on information they provide in a questionnaire about best practices in human resources.

Thus, the analysis is based on 20 evaluation criteria, structured into 6 categories, such as human resource management, working environment, recruitment process, development opportunities offered to employees, employee wellbeing, and diversity & inclusion in the workplace. Among the categories where Auchan Romania scored the highest compared to other local companies, are the company’s Values & Mission, Working Environment, Employer Branding, and notable sustainability practices in human resources.

Auchan employees’ engagement level exceeds 90% As part of the constant attention the retailer pays to its employees, encouraging their open expression, Auchan conducts an annual survey with Ipsos. Thus, the Engagement and Satisfaction Barometer has become a key tool for a human, social, and managerial diagnosis of the company. According to the most recent survey, 91% of employees are proud to work at Auchan, and 88% of them recommend Auchan as an employer, voluntarily. Moreover, 95% of employees are happy to recommend their acquaintances to shop at Auchan. Therefore, for the analysis of external competitiveness, the company participates annually in two salary surveys, Paywell by PwC, and Mercer, paying close attention to remuneration policies, to remain one of the most competitive employers. In addition, the retailer offers medical and life insurance that covers most services, according to the insurance broker, including dental services. At the same time, it focuses on the wellbeing of employees, and the medical insurance includes psychological counseling for each employee.
