Radisson Blu Bucharest, the first hotel in Romania to use 100% renewable electricity, continues to invest in sustainability. Over the last few months, the company has invested in the installation of state-of-the-art equipment and technological solutions that allows the hotel optimize consumption of resources and energy. The €2.1 million investment facilitates concrete measures in line with the hotel group’s sustainability commitments, aimed at achieving net zero emissions by 2050 worldwide.
The investments included the installation of new, high-performance and more energy-efficient refrigeration equipment, the upgrading of the heating system through the installation of high-performance boilers and distribution pumps, as well as the optimization of the temperature control system in the rooms and public areas inside the hotel complex.
To communicate the plan of measures implemented, Radisson Blu launches the RESPONSIBLE °COMFORT campaign, designed to convey a simple but impactful message: “comfort can be responsible”.
“We continue our mission to provide our guests the highest standards of quality, but we know we can fully enjoy comfort while acting with greater respect for the planet’s resources. By seemingly small gestures, we can all contribute to a better future, especially in the current context, when acting responsibly has become not only a priority, but also a necessity”, says Sonja Dive-Dahl, General Manager of Radisson Blu Hotel & Park Inn by Radisson Hotel & Residence Bucharest.
The new initiatives complement the action plan that the hotel has already had in place for some time, implemented at Group level. Radisson Blu Bucharest has also invested in a feasibility study for the installation of solar panels.
“We continue to invest in reducing our environmental footprint, whether we are talking about advanced technologies and systems that ensure our long-term energy efficiency, or measures that start with the simple awareness that we all need to be constantly involved so that our impact is as environmentally friendly as possible. We thank the guests who join us in this endeavor, and we continue to provide them the perfect setting to enjoy responsibly all that Radisson Blu has to offer”, says Timo Obalek, Hotel Manager Radisson Blu & Park Inn by Radisson Hotel & Residence.
In 2022, Radisson Blu renewed its Green Key certification, obtained 9 years ago, a guarantee that it operates by complying with strict criteria in terms of water consumption, energy, waste management, as well as by complying with the norms of cleanliness and sustainability education for staff, guests, and suppliers.
