During this year’s edition, UNTOLD and health partner Regina Maria activate the first emotional first aid point at one of the world’s largest music festivals. It’s the first time a healthcare company brings mental health to an event of this kind, drawing attention to the importance of emotional well-being in quality of life.

“In 2023, it’s time to set aside the shame of seeking therapy. Our tendency is to run away from strong emotions, but they are precisely what make us stronger in the long run. It’s important to learn to recognize our emotions and not keep them hidden, but to express them in a healthy way and turn them into something constructive for ourselves,” says Oana Nicolau, psychotherapist and co-founder of Oana Nicolau clinic, part of the Regina Maria health network.

During the 4-day festival, Regina Maria provides participants with a safe and relaxed space where they can discuss any topic related to their emotional health or life with experienced psychotherapists. Participants will find an area that replicates the experience of a psychotherapy office; furthermore, kinetic sport & medicine kinetotherapists are prepared to explain the impact of emotional issues such as anger, anxiety, and stress on the body and teach them easy exercises to relieve tension in the areas of the body affected by psycho-motional states.

The need to address the psychomotional aspect is not new. In Romania, speaking with a psychotherapist is still stigmatized, although the benefits are acknowledged by most romanians and documented by specialized studies. Over 150 million people in the european union live with a psychomotional problem, according to the world health organization.

“We are delighted to announce that, thanks to our partnership with Regina Maria, the UNTOLD festival will be the first music event in Romania to offer participants a safe and confidential space for discussions about emotional health. In such a vibrant and energetic environment, we recognize the importance of supporting mental health and actively want to improve the well-being of everyone present at the festival. We are proud to join this initiative and grateful for the support of Regina Maria in our efforts to create a festival that not only provides extraordinary musical experiences but also promotes mental health,” said Edy Chereji, chief of public affairs at UNTOLD universe.

Holistic involvement to stimulate well-being at the festival

“It’s the first time in Romania that we bring together all the necessary resources to create an emotional first aid point at a festival. As a health partner, it’s our role to explain that we are truly healthy when we take care of our minds, not just our bodies,” declares Greta Redeleanu, marketing director at Regina Maria.

Discussion sessions with psychotherapists will take place every day of the festival, between 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm. Any festival participant will be able to benefit from these counseling and emotional support sessions, provided free of charge by the Regina Maria network.

In addition to the emotional health cabinets, the festival’s health partner will offer participants a range of activities designed to contribute to both physical and mental well-being. Thus, in the dedicated Regina Maria area, healthy cocktails made from natural juices and syrups approved by nutritionist doctors will be offered, as well as rehydration zones and healthy prizes such as vouchers for discounted psychotherapy sessions and subscriptions, sessions with kinetotherapy specialists, or vouchers for testing the level of vitamin d in the body. Among the prizes offered is also a one-year weekly psychotherapy subscription at Oana Nicolau clinics until the next UNTOLD edition.
