The Emergency County Clinical Hospital “Pius Brînzeu” in Timișoara acquired from GE Healthcare a Revolution Evo CT scanner, which addresses a wide range of patients and pathologies.
Revolution Evo provides a reliable diagnosis by detecting the smallest details while using a low radiation dose. The CT equipment will be accompanied by a modular construction so that it can be used to screen patients suspected of being infected with the SARS-CVO2 virus, without the need for patients to enter the areas of the health unit before having a clear diagnosis. It will be located in the immediate vicinity of the Emergency Reception Unit of the County Hospital. The way in which the circuit of patients and medical staff is established within the modular structure minimizes the risk of exposure to the virus.
The acquisition includes the arrangement and furnishing of the modular structure in accordance with the legislation in force and a full-service warranty with spare parts, for a period of 2 years.
“In the midst of a coronavirus pandemic, the health of medical staff is the zero priority for the management of the ‘Pius Brînzeu’ County Emergency Clinical Hospital in Timișoara. Any minimal exposure to infection by healthcare professionals should be controlled to reduce the risk of patients not having anyone to treat them with. Our goal is to provide the certainty of a correct and quick diagnosis, which is practically the mandatory starting point for any doctor when needs to make a medical diagnosis. Computed tomography plays a key role in the diagnostic process and, consequently, in the care of patients with COVID-19.
