The Emergency County Clinical Hospital “Pius Brînzeu” in Timișoara acquired from GE Healthcare a Revolution Evo CT scanner, which addresses a wide range of patients and pathologies.

Revolution Evo provides a reliable diagnosis by detecting the smallest details while using a low radiation dose. The CT equipment will be accompanied by a modular construction so that it can be used to screen patients suspected of being infected with the SARS-CVO2 virus, without the need for patients to enter the areas of the health unit before having a clear diagnosis. It will be located in the immediate vicinity of the Emergency Reception Unit of the County Hospital. The way in which the circuit of patients and medical staff is established within the modular structure minimizes the risk of exposure to the virus.

The acquisition includes the arrangement and furnishing of the modular structure in accordance with the legislation in force and a full-service warranty with spare parts, for a period of 2 years.

“In the midst of a coronavirus pandemic, the health of medical staff is the zero priority for the management of the ‘Pius Brînzeu’ County Emergency Clinical Hospital in Timișoara. Any minimal exposure to infection by healthcare professionals should be controlled to reduce the risk of patients not having anyone to treat them with. Our goal is to provide the certainty of a correct and quick diagnosis, which is practically the mandatory starting point for any doctor when needs to make a medical diagnosis. Computed tomography plays a key role in the diagnostic process and, consequently, in the care of patients with COVID-19. We are delighted to be able to provide our medical team and patients with access to state-of-the-art technology, helping physicians perform the medical act in an accurate manner and in a shorter amount of time. After this pandemic, the equipment will be used in the detection and specialized treatment of stroke patients”, declared Assist. Professor Dr. Raul Pătrașcu, manager of the “Pius Brînzeu” County Emergency Clinical Hospital in Timișoara.

“It is an honor to be partners with Emergency County Clinical Hospital “Pius Brînzeu” in Timișoara and to be able to offer the integrated solution (CT + modular structure) that helps radiologists in imaging screening. We are convinced that this new technology will help improve the way in which investigations are carried out and will open new horizons of exploration for doctors who are looking for ways to optimize imaging protocols and want to know as much detailed information about the condition of patients”, declared Alexandra Munteanu, General Manager of GE Healthcare for Romania and Republic of Moldova.

Revolution Evo is the perfect solution for expanding clinical exploration capabilities, from simple to complex, thanks to its scanning speed and the options it offers, presenting a quality image and an increased workflow. The equipment has a state-of-the-art detector that translates into fast scanning speed and exceptional image quality.

Revolution Evo is equipped with modern technology to reduce the radiation dose administered to the patient. Thus, options like Smart Dose, 3D modulation, Organ dose modulation help to decrease the dose administered to the patient. Because of the new technologies, Revolution EVO perfectly fits the diagnostic needs and offers a workflow adapted to the increasing scanning needs, due to complex pathologies. The accuracy of the diagnosis is supported by one of the most comprehensive post-processing stations on the market today: Advanced Workstation, and the images obtained are post-processed with great ease.
