MedLife, the largest private healthcare services network in Romania, inaugurates a new Materno-Fetal Medicine Center in Timișoara, following an investment of a quarter of a million euros. This regional center in western Romania, integrated under the Medici’s umbrella, complements the MedLife Group’s expertise in materno-fetal medicine, offering comprehensive services for diagnosing and caring for high-risk pregnancies.

“In many medical specialties, Timișoara is steadily rising each year as a diagnostic power towards the level of renowned clinics in Western Europe. We are delighted that, at this moment, in Medici’s, we can open such a center at such a high standard. We believe it’s only natural to have this in Timișoara, and we thank the MedLife Group, the leader in private medical services in Romania, for having the confidence to invest in Medici’s and in Timișoara. MedLife’s investments in Timișoara, combined with those budgeted for 2024, will amount to approximately 20 million euros. The intention is to transform Timișoara into one of Romania’s main private medical platforms, with a Euroregional impact,” states Dr. Adrian Bădescu, founder, associate, and general manager of the Medici’s Clinics in Timișoara, part of the MedLife Group.

The first MedLife center specialized in fetal interventions

The new Materno-Fetal Medicine Center at MedLife Medici’s specializes in both diagnosing and monitoring pregnancies at high risk of anomalies, as well as fetal interventions. Indeed, this is one of the few centers in the entire country where intrauterine procedures can be performed for the identification and treatment of potential fetal pathologies.

Patients at the center of excellence in Timișoara benefit from the expertise of four nationally and even internationally recognized doctors: Dr. Bogdan Mureșan, Dr. Dan Dumitrașcu-Biriș, Dr. Ioana Dumitrașcu-Biriș, and Dr. Aurora Ilian.

The medical team can perform both diagnostic fetal interventions to identify chromosomal or genetic anomalies and therapeutic fetal interventions for draining fetal fluid accumulations or in the case of discordant multiple pregnancies, where one of the fetuses presents a chromosomal anomaly or severe malformation.

The team’s expertise in Timișoara is complemented by high-performance technology. The new center is equipped with a fetoscope that allows fetal therapies to be performed not only under ultrasound guidance but also fetoscopically. It also features one of the most advanced ultrasound systems available today, the Voluson Expert 22 ultrasound. Thanks to artificial intelligence algorithms, it enables the visualization of high-quality images, playing an important role in the early detection of various pathologies and establishing an accurate diagnosis.

Integrated services for the pregnancy journey

Maternal and fetal care, as well as providing a comprehensive range of services related to the pregnancy journey, have been a continuous priority for MedLife since its inception in the medical services market.

As a result, future parents have access to the MedLife network:
