Medicover opens a multi-disciplinary hospital in Bucharest

The new multi-disciplinary hospital in Bucharest comes from the repurposing of an office building into a medical facility upgraded to the latest Western standards. It is a 9-floor plus ground-floor building, with a total area of over 22,000 square meters, out of which 15,000 represent the medical area. The new hospital is located in the northern part of the city, offering easy access to medical services to both the citizens of Bucharest and the inhabitants of the neighboring districts. The hospital has 200 inpatient beds, seven operating rooms, a modern anesthesia and intensive care unit, one da Vinci robot, a high-tech imaging center, a catheterization laboratory, and an integrated outpatient ambulatory. For the convenience of patients and their carers, the hospital offers a modern cafeteria and parking spaces.

The opening of the new hospital in Bucharest is the culmination of many months of truly extraordinary work. An important space is allocated to preventive healthcare, with a modern outpatient ambulatory covering numerous medical specialties such as cardiology, dermatology, gastroenterology, internal medicine, neurology, oncology, pneumology, rheumatology. 24 medical offices are available for specialist consultations, investigations and minor interventions.

The hospital will host a modern laboratory operated by Synevo Romania, part of the Diagnostic Services Division of Medicover. The laboratory will use state-of-the-art equipment with a total processing capacity of over 1,500 samples per hour. The tests performed here cover areas such as haematology, chemistry, immunology, microbiology.

The new facility is located at 11 Fabrica de Glucoză Street. The first hospital was opened by Medicover in Bucharest in the Aviației district and it will be reconfigured into a Maternity. Next come the Pelican Hospital in Oradea, Medicover Hospital in Cluj, Phoenix Hospital in Craiova.. Medicover thus operatesmore than 700 inpatient beds in Romania.
