Johnson & Johnson Romania and University of Medicine and Pharmacy Carol Davila in Bucharest (UMFCD) announce the strategic partnership on eHealth

Johnson & Johnson Romania and University of Medicine and Pharmacy Carol Davila in Bucharest (UMFCD) anounces the signing of a landmark partnership, through its newly established Center for Innovation and eHealth (CIeH) of UMFCD. This is the first private – academic partnership between UMFCD and a global innovative pharmaceutical company present in Romania.

 

CIeH is a mechanism of development and support of innovation and technological transfer, and  it also enforces and disseminates the results obtained in order to produce, transmit and circulate knowledge. CIeH is aimed to develop the medical students’ skills in innovation and digital health to further raise competitiveness and strengthen the digitalization of health education systems in Romania, within the European and international dynamic.

Valid for one year, the main objective of the collaboration is to support CIeH activities, develop new projects together and promoting CIeH activities and purpose, as stated on its mission. The common interest that unites the two entities is to accelerate digital progress in health, innovation and adding value at the academic preparation of future doctors,  scientists and healthcare professionals.

So much can be achieved thanks to the collaborative spirit between private resources and the academia, and we are proud and honored to have the chance to build and shape the healthcare system and digital transformation in Romania. Together with UMFCD/ the Center for Innovation and eHealth we aim to contribute toward a healthier Romania powered by science and digital technology.” said Sévan Kaloustian, Managing Director of Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson Romania.

Various projects are discussed to take place within the partnership, combining scholastic activity with applied practical projects, real work experiences and factual insights provided by the both parties. .

“The education in digital health is essential for our students and sets them the ground for peer alignment at European level. The partnership with Johnson & Johnson will not just inspire our students to learn from a much looked-for company, but will also give them a valuable chance to align at top level with the society digital progress and general health trends.” added Prof. Dr. Jinga Viorel, Rector of University of Medicine and Pharmacy Carol Davila.
