Dr. Leahu Clinics to invest EUR 10 mln in network expansion over the next three years

Doctor Ionut Leahu, a dental implant specialist and owner of Dr. Leahu Clinics, is planning to allocate over EUR 10 million over the next three years to extend his clinic network in the country.

The investment will target the opening of 20 new clinics and the purchase of the necessary equipment stock, but it could double if we take into account the acquisitions of buildings.

For the development of dental services at a national level and to carry forward a business model built around the patient’s real needs, the Dr. Leahu Dental Clinic sets the foundation of a unique medical partnership system that keeps the rigor of the franchise but is differentiated by contribution to investment.

”Finally, the patient wants fewer visits to the dentist, complex treatments, quality and lower costs. They want to know what to expect, to be well-informed and have a permanent contact. Given that no one thinks that a single doctor can treat a patient’s problems alone, we challenge the entire dental industry: we are looking for experienced or early-stage physicians, as well as entrepreneurs who have accumulated expertise in health, to join us in a partnership that will raise the quality standards of the dental health system, ” said Ionut Leahu.

The partner should adhere to the network’s clinical philosophy – providing each patient with real healthcare and an exceptional experience, manage resources locally and have a minimum capital of EUR 100,000. The rest of the investment, up to EUR 500,000, to build a new clinic to network standards, is covered by Dr. Leahu Clinics. In addition, those who will join this partnership will benefit from all the necessary support – promotion, procurement of equipment and materials at competitive prices, access to state-of-the-art medical technology and accelerated specialization programs.

Three more clinics and a regional hospital in the next six months

Seven years after the opening of the first medical unit, which invested only RON 1,500, the doctor managed to build a network of four clinics in Bucharest and one in Pitesti and is preparing investments into four other cities in the next half-year.

Timisoara will have its own Dr. Leahu dental clinic starting mid-November, with an investment of EUR 1,15 million. In the first half of next year, two new clinics will be inaugurated in Bucharest, for which the doctor has allocated EUR 600,000, as well as one in Cluj-Napoca, where he is investing EUR 1.8 million for a Regional Excellence Center with 17 offices and an operating room.

30 percent of those who are scheduled at Dr. Leahu Clinics do not live in Bucharest, and in the summer, the percentage of patients coming from other areas reaches 60 percent of the total of 1,500 unique patients per month.

The development is mainly funded by banks, and resources are allocated in three directions: fittings, equipments and consumables stock.

Dr. Leahu Clinics estimate a turnover of EUR 29 million for 2018, up 70 percent from last year.

”The increases come from the diversification of our services, to which we’ve added the most complex interventions in the field of maxillofacial surgery, using zygomatic implants in addition to conventional implantology. We hope that by 2021, when the network will be 10 years old, we can treat 15,000 unique patients per month in all Dr. Leahu clinics,” the doctor says.

In the long run, Ionut Leahu also plans to create a research and development area in dentistry and to take his clinics outside the country.
