Rumors about plans of German carmakers to open a manufacturing plant in Romania have been coming and going for years.
At present, the country hosts two carmakers – French Renault’s Dacia and American Ford.
Asked if Romania could attract a new carmaker from Germany, Dragos Anastasiu, president, German-Romanian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK Romania), said:
“We could do it, but we have to put on paper things that we have to put together. At this moment we have to build teams,” said Anastasiu during the Country Focus Community Forum.
Mihai Ionescu, CEO of Deutsche Bank Romania, said that infrastructure is critical when thinking about the attraction of a German car maker.
