The Environmental Fund Administration’s budget was approved by the Dancila government on Friday, allowing the further operation of the Rabla Clasic and Rabla Plus programmes, with financing of RON 322 million and RON 93 million, respectively.

“At the Environment Ministry’s proposal, we’re approving the budget of the Environmental Fund Administration, the main government financing source for programmes and projects for environmental protection. Romanians have been waiting for the launch of these programmes and once the budget is approved, these can begin. We will thus continue the most longstanding governmental project, Rabla Clasic, which will be at its 15th edition this year. Through its budget of RON 322 million, around 35,000 Romanians will be able to replace their cars that are older than 8 years with others, less polluting ones. The Rabla Plus programme will also continue, to finance the purchase of electric and hybrid cars, with a total of RON 93 million. We’re talking about a very successful programme, which offers the most consistent eco-voucher in the EU, with about EUR 10,000 for full electric cars,” said PM Viorica Dancila at the start of the government meeting on Friday.

The PM added that citizens will also be able to access a total of RON 40 million to replace old household electronics with new equipment. She also said that a photovoltaic equipment programme will also be launched this year, to allow people to produce their own electricity and heating, with a budget of over RON 600 million.
