Transavia opens poultry production facility in Cristuru Secuiesc

Romanian poultry producer Transavia has invested in opening a new production facility in Cristuru Secuiesc, Harghita county. The farm will produce 5,500 tons of poultry per year and it employs 30 people. Following this project, the poultry producer has also had to invest in increasing the production capacity of its incubation facility, its fodder factory in Sintimbru and that of abattoir in Oiejdea.

Transavia currently produces over 50,000 tons of poultry annually. It employs over 1,400 people and owns 15 chicken farms, two reproduction farms and two incubation facilities, a combined fodder factory, two abattoirs, a poultry-processing factory and two cereal farms.

In 2010 the company’s sales amounted to RON 423.15 million (approximately EUR 100 million).
