Spell BOX, AI diagnostic hardware for crops, to be launched by Chromosome Dynamics in 2022

This year, agritech Chromosome Dynamics will launch Spell BOX, a hardware solution for diagnosing crops. Spell BOX comes to the aid of farmers with a solid database of diseases and pests, with maximum accuracy, eliminating any human error related to the nature of the problem placed for analysis due to the controlled environment in which the photos are taken.

“This hardware device allows the real-time introduction and scanning of diseased plants or fruits, giving the user a complete report on the identified problems and the found solutions.”

The information is read using a camera positioned inside the device. The complex report is displayed directly in the Spell BOX application, presenting several treatment schemes with the corresponding products. Spell BOX was thought of as an easy tool for any farmer to use. The compact box has an elegant design and a modern air, the most important features being operated by only two essential buttons.

Spell BOX App is the application that accompanies the hardware device of the same name, being an extension of it through which the user receives all the information relevant to solving the problems they face and which makes it possible to purchase the right products at the best price.

We built from scratch an entire hybrid ecosystem (hardware + software), which can be accessed in real time by pressing a single button. We expect the product to be launched in mid-year and the delivery of the first batch of devices to be sent to our partners starting October (device only available for distributors of agricultural inputs). At launch, Spell Box will be able to recognize pests, pathogens from straw, weed and oilseeds and will also serve professional vegetable growers for a wide variety of vegetable crops.

Chromosome Dynamics will also develop other modules that can accurately identify weeds, plant or soil deficiencies. The company estimates the delivery of the first batch of devices in the fall of this year to several distributors of agricultural inputs in Romania. CHRD also aims to sign the world’s first partnerships with international input distributors.
