A&D Pharma Group continues strengthening their position on the retail pharma market after buying and integrating 46 Belladonna pharmacies. The pharmacies will be rebranded as Punkt, the retail chain operated by the company along Sensiblu, the other pharma retail chain.
The announcement came right after the selling of Solacium and its subsidiary Be Well Pharma to Zentiva and Siyiara Enterprises. Dr. Max Group, owner of A&D Pharma, moves on with the focus on core-business, distribution of pharmaceuticals.
“With the integration of the 46 new units in Punkt pharmacies, we reconfirm that we are a dynamic group. We will not stop here, we will continue to grow to provide patients and customers with high-quality and affordable products that will contribute positively and proactively to the lives of our community,” said Leonardo Ferrandino, CEO of Interimar A&D Pharma and President & CEO Dr.Max Group.
The transaction complies with all the criteria imposed by the law and was approved by the Competition Council, which marks a new stage in the integration of the 46 pharmacies, a process that will last for several months. Following the acquisition of Beladonna pharmacies in Bucharest, over 180 new employees will join the A&D Pharma Group.
With about 25 years of experience on the local market, the company is one of the largest pharmaceutical groups in Romania that offers integrated import, distribution and retail services for pharmaceuticals. A&D Pharma currently operates three business lines, namely Mediplus, – one of the market leaders in the distribution of pharmaceuticals, Sensiblu and Punkt, national pharmacies chain, and A&D Pharma Marketing & Sales – provides value added services to international drug manufacturers in Central and Eastern Europe.
