Livia Stan, MSD Romania, takes the stage at Innovate Health Forum 2024

Livia Stan, Policy & Market Access Director at MSD Romania, is set to speak at the Innovate Health Forum 2024. The event, hosted at the Courtyard by Marriott Bucharest Floreasca on May 22, 2024, is designed to foster discussions among leading healthcare experts and professionals. With extensive experience in healthcare policy and market access, Livia will share her insights on navigating the complexities of healthcare systems and the importance of innovative strategies for enhancing patient access to critical therapies.

 

For almost 15 years, starting with 2002, Livia held various positions in the central public administration within the Ministry of Transport, Ministry of European Integration and Ministry of Public Finance, including the position of Secretary General of the Ministry of Health (2016/2017) and counsellor to the Health Minister, Victor Costache (2020/2021).

From 2011 to 2016, she was General Director within the Ministry of Public Finance, implementing EU acquis in the field of state aid and unfair competition and managing a portfolio of over 3.5 billion Euro investment projects.

In 2017, Livia joined the private sector as Director within the Tax and Legal Consulting Department of PwC Romania, also part of the integrated Public Services Team, being involved in a wide range of projects, with a focus on access to finance.

In the last 3, she acted as Public Affairs and EU Funds Director at E.ON Romania – a large German utilities company with operations in the North part of Romania – with extensive responsibilities in driving the Public Affairs Strategy of the company and consolidating its position at market level.

Before joining E.ON, she acted also as an independent consultant involved in various international projects with Therme Group, the Delegation of the EC to Ukraine, the WBGand EIB.

Livia has a Bachelor degree in Law (2002) and a Master in e-Governance (2008), followed by post-graduated studies in Urban Management at Erasmus University in Rotterdam (2004). In 2021, she obtained the M-CIPS global certification in Procurement and Supply.

Having an in-depth understanding of the legal and administrative framework specific to the Romanian central and local administration and an extensive expertise in strategizing, policy formulation and implementation, Livia gained also a relevant international experience in the field of public procurement, concessions, PPPs, state aid, competition and EU funds.

She is passionate about her work, but equally enjoys theatre, cinema, jogging and travelling.She is also actively involved in the activities of Urban Insights Center, and NGO which generated resources for supporting alliances of public and private stakeholders to boost urban development and innovation.
