Top Ranking Diplomats to Join Business Review’s Foreign Investors Summit 2022

Like all Business Review events, the Foreign Investors Summit 2022 will feature a “dream team” speaker roster, comprised of top business executives from various industries. But the key highlight of this edition is the strategic line-up of high ranking diplomats: the Chargé d’affaires of the United States of America and Ambassadors of France, Germany, Italy, and Israel, who will hold insightful keynote speeches about the bilateral economic relationship of their country with Romania!

Despite a harsh couple of years for global economies, Foreign Direct Investments in Romania are bouncing back from the low mark of 2020, the first pandemic year. After a healthy recovery in 2021, when FDIs more than doubled to EUR 7.2 billion from only EUR 3 billion in 2020, the first half of 2022 marks yet another growth. Thus, FDIs reached EUR 4.37 billion in the first six months of the current year compared with EUR 3.605 billion in the same period of last year, a 21% increase.

The growing FDIs are a solid proof that Romania still is an opportunity for foreign investors. Retail and commerce, technology and communications, energy, real estate and development or agriculture sectors are the main focus of investors. But foreign investments are not only about business in this new world we all live in. Business goes hand in hand with cultural, social, environmental or diplomatic development and is a great path in strengthening ties between countries and its peoples.

This bounce-back of FDIs in Romania is in no small measure the merit of the diplomatic missions of Romania’s strategic partners. To hear about their work and efforts to draw more and more investors from each of their countries, Business Review invited an entire line-up of high-ranking diplomats to hold keynote speeches about the bilateral economic relationship of their country with Romania: the Chargé d’affaires of the United States of America and Ambassadors of France, Germany, Italy, and Israel.

In day 1 (October 26) of the Summit, starting with 11:30 AM, H.E. Mrs. Laurence Auer, French Republic Ambassador to Romania, will open the panel dedicated to France, titled “French investments in Romania, a part of the common heritage.”

Just after the French panel, H.E. Dr. Peer Gebauer, German Ambassador in Romania, will open the panel dedicated to Germany, titled “Building up Romanian Industry for centuries.”

Day 2 of the Foreign Investors Summit (October 27) will be opened at 10 AM by a keynote speech from H.E. Mr. David Muniz, Charge d’Áffaires, Embassy of USA in Romania, who will preface the panel dedicated to the United States of America, “Business alliance for the future.”

After the USA panel, H.E. Mr. Alfredo Durante Mangoni, Ambassador of Italy in Romania, will give a keynote speech, opening the panel dedicated to Italian investors, titled “Business between tradition and innovation.”

The closing remarks of the Summit will be delivered by H.E. Mr. Reuven Azar, Ambassador of Israel in Romania, starting with 1:30 PM, through a keynote speech in which he will highlight the importance of Israeli-Romanian collaboration in key areas such as healthcare, real estate, or tech.

Join us on October 26-27 at The Marmorosch Bucharest, Autograph Collection (Doamnei St. 2, Bucharest), in the exquisite Vienna Ballroom, for the 9th edition of the Foreign Investors Summit, Business Review’s landmark event dedicated to foreign direct investments, and take part, together with leading foreign investors, diplomats, consultants, legal advisors, and public officials, to one of the biggest and most prestigious events of its kind in Romania and the only two-day Summit where those who invest in our country take the center stage!
