Jan Demeyere, Architect, Co-founder & Partner at Speedwell, will be a speaker at the 9th edition of Business Review’s Foreign Investors Summit, where he will be part of the Opening Panel of Day 1, highlighting the importance of foreign direct investments in Romania. Join him and an entire community of government officials, ambassadors and top diplomats, strategy experts, leading executives of multinational companies and foreign investors on October 26-27 at The Marmorosch Bucharest, Autograph Collection!

Jan Demeyere graduated with honours as architect specialised in urban planning in 1991 from Sint Lucas Ghent – Belgium and has over 20 years of experience in the international construction and real estate market, out of which more than 15 years in Romania.

In 2014, Jan Demeyere joined forces with Didier Balcaen and founded Speedwell Real Estate Development, a company that aims to develop real estate with passion.

Mr. Jan Demeyere is involved in every step of the process and works closely with the in-house team of architects making sure that every building is unique, esthetically pleasing, sustainable and designed with the end user’s needs in mind.

Although Mr. Demeyere designs as an architect, he thinks as a developer and this can be seen in all his successfully delivered projects.

With an impressive national expansion strategy, which earned the company the Best National Expansion Strategy trophy at the Realty Forum 2022, Speedwell manages an extensive network of projects across our country, including  RECORD PARK in Cluj-Napoca, THE IVY, TRIAMA Residence, THE MEADOWS, SPACEPLUS and MIRO in Bucharest, PALTIM in Timisoara, and RIVERSIDE CITY in Ramnicu Valcea.

“This is a period where the public sector should fully cooperate with developers to make sure the construction market doesn’t end up in a recession and isn’t forced to cut jobs. The cost of the latter will be immense and might take a long time to recover. Externally, there is the uncertainty caused by the war in Ukraine and its effects. One of these effects is the increase in energy prices, and people are preparing for what comes next. Also, let’s not forget about the supply chain bottlenecks which are causing delays and even further price increases,” Said the Speedwell co-founder during BR’s recent Realty Forum.

In early 2022, Speedwell purchased a 5.6 hectares land plot with the purpose of developing a new residential project, THE MEADOWS. The concept combines townhouses and apartment villas with a low height regime and is located on Grivita’s lakeshore, in Bucharest’s District 1. Speedwell’s expansion on the Romanian market continued this year, in April 2022 receiving the building permit for Phase 1 of the PALTIM project, the company’s first project in the city of Timisoara, a mixed-use ensemble built around the Transit Oriented Development concept.
