Code for Romania Association has launched an ecosystem of digital solutions to help out the Ukrainian refugees. The platform launched is www.dopomoha.ro, where anybody fleeing Ukraine can get information about the refugee status or asylum. At this moment, with the exception of men aged 18 to 60 (banned from leaving the country by their authorities), anyone can enter Romania through any of the official border crossings. Ukrainian nationals carrying any valid passport can enter Romania on a short stay status for 90 days and ask for asylum either immediately or at any later point during their stay. Those who do not hold any passport can enter Romania by seeking asylum status at the border crossing. The platform is available in Romanian, English and Ukrainian.

On this platform created by Code for Romania in partnership with the Department of Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the International Organization for Migration and the Romanian National Council for Refugees civilians fleeing the war in Ukraine can find all relevant information about seeking protection in Romania.

They aim of the platform is to provide qualitative information on the current situation and effects of the war, ways to manage the critical needs of the refugees or the resources and capacity of local authorities, and offer support for the civil society in Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova.

Moreover, it’s also available www.refugees.ro, a platform designed as a real-time map of Romania with the resources offered, from accomodation to transportation, food, pet care and many others, as well as border real waiting time, both in Romania and Poland. The platform is available in Romanian, English, Ukrainian, Polish, Slovakian and Russian languages.

Furthermore, all Ukrainian-Romanian borders are covered by individuals, companies, or organizations who are coming together on public Facebook groups to offer accommodation, food, funds, or other help to Ukrainian refugees.
