Women in Music Romania announces new series of events: HerStory

On June 21st, Women in Music Romania kicks off a new series of events at Cărturești Modul (Academiei Street, No. 18-29). The HerStory series aims to highlight the stories of successful women in the music industry in Romania. The first guest is Olga Juverdeanu – CEO of Global Records, currently the largest independent record label in Central and Eastern Europe. Admission to the event is free, subject to availability.

The HerStory series will debut with Olga Juverdeanu on Wednesday, June 21st, at 6:00 PM at Cărturești Modul and will be moderated by Ana Moga (Kiss FM). We will have the opportunity to socialize over a glass of wine afterward.

“Our goal is to create a platform through our initiatives that connects, educates, and develop professional skills for women in the music industry. We want to get to know and increase the visibility of as many women as possible who can become sources of inspiration, which is the foundation of HerStory, the event series we are launching this month,” says Carina Sava, the founder of Women in Music Romania.

Conversations in the HerStory series will take place monthly. The dates for the upcoming meetings are July 17th, August 17th, September 12th, October 26th, and November 16th.

In addition, registrations for the Women in Music Mentorship Program – a mentoring program dedicated to women at the beginning of their careers in the music industry – are open until August 13th. As part of Women in Music initiatives, last week women in the music industry gathered at the first edition of Shutter Sounds And Coffee – a networking event with a twist. Based on the observation that many women in the music industry have never had a professional photoshoot, they were invited to an individual photoshoot with Women in Music Romania’s official photographer, Cristina Oltean. The feedback received led to the decision to transform Shutter Sounds and Coffee into an annual event.
