UPDATE: Catalin Mitulescu’s film Loverboy premieres at Cannes Film Festival, winners are announced

Romanian director Catalin Mitulescu’s film Loverboy received a Cannes Film Festival nomination, in the Un certain regard category.

Also, at this edition of the Cannes Film Festival, Romanian-born, but France-established director, Radu Mihaileanu’s  film La Source des Femmes is competing for the top prize in the Palme d’Or section. The festival lasts until May 22. Read the full list of Palme D’Or nominations here.

UPDATE: The winners of the festival have been announced. Romanians do not make it to the final list this year. The jury led by Robert de Niro gave the Palme d’Or to Terrence Malick’s The Tree of Life. Read the full list below:
