UNICEF Gala raises USD 195,000 and still counting

To this sum will be added the proceeds from donations made by viewers on the phone with the celebrities and online donations from Romania and abroad which will be made through bank transfer and need more time to be confirmed. Also to come are donations from four publishing houses which consist of books for children and parents, on the topic of raising children. The total value of the book donations amounts to USD 42,500.
The fundraising campaign will continue until June 30. To make a EUR 2 donation, send an SMS to 874 in the Orange and Vodafone networks. The numbers 0 900 900 455 and 0 900 900 450 in the Romtelecom network will remain available for donations of EUR 5 and 10. Other donations can be made online on www.unicef.ro and at any BRD branch to the UNICEF account. The proceeds will be used for the promotion and expansion of parent education programs in Romania aimed at combating abandonment, violence in the family, disease, death due to domestic accidents and school drop-out. This year's edition of the UNICEF Gala reunited, as every year, public figures from politics, arts and social life. The gala was hosted as in previous years by Andreea Marin Banica, Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF, and singer Dan Bittman.
