The Illusion of Time is an exhibition that comprises around 100 vintage clocks and watches showcased at Cotroceni National Museum. Some of these, whether wrist watches, pocket watches, wall clocks or desk clocks, belonged to famous Romanian rulers such as Mihail Sturdza and Grigore Alexandru Ghica and royals such as King Ferdinand, Queen Maria and kings Carol II and Mihai. Clocks and watches that belonged to other Romanian cultural and public figures will also be on display, such as national poet Mihai Eminescu, writer Ion Creanga, painter Theodor Aman and prime minister Mihail Kogalniceanu.

Among the curiosities are a solar-powered clock from the 18th century, a musical watch that plays the Romanian national anthem and a stamp watch.
