Deneuve spent about an hour in a traditional Romanian restaurant with her personal agent and director Tudor Giurgiu, then checked into the City Plaza Hotel.
The actress was the guest of honor at TIFF, which took place between May 30 and June 8 in Cluj-Napoca. She was invited to pick up a Lifelong Career Award, during the Award Galas of the festival which took place at the National Theater in Cluj- Napoca.
The death of her close friend, fashion designer Yves Saint-Laurent, put her attendance in question, but she eventually showed up shortly after attending her friend's funeral. The actress spoke about her latest movie “Changing Times” and her fruitful collaboration with actors Philip Noiret and Gerard Depardieu.
Deneuve, an international screen legend, is famous for roles in “Repulsion” by Roman Polanski, “Belle de jour” and “Tristana” by Luis Bunuel, “Indochina” and “Dancer in the Dark” (where she played alongside Bjork), and has also acted in Hollywood productions such as “Hustle” and “Hunger.”
