What was in the minds of the owners to open a chophouse in this unforgiving madhouse of a district? If you live in Iancu Nicolae or Pipera, I can understand that you may well dine there, because there is no other option, as driving in to town will give you a heart attack. Stupid you for living there!
But when you consider that half the tasteless, vulgar imitation palaces in those areas have been purchased by greedy investors who cannot sell them (hence most are unoccupied), they need Bucharest clients. Well, if they come to Pipera, they will need the patience of a saint to negotiate the traffic.
And they should come because the food is rather good. El Bacha is a small chain with an outlet in the Phoenica Hotel as well as in mad Pipera. They were formerly in the Marriott Grand Mall, but sadly they closed down recently after being a great success there!
