In an effort to shed light on the evolving interests of international tourists in Bucharest, Visit Bucharest, an English-language online guide to the city, conducted a comprehensive analysis of user searches from January 1 to December 15, 2023. The study, based on 355,000 specific searches and over 5 million views and interactions on associated social media accounts, provides a fascinating glimpse into the preferences of English-speaking visitors to the Romanian capital.

Surpassing a quarter of a million foreign tourists annually, Visit Bucharest caters primarily to travelers from the United Kingdom, the United States, Bulgaria, Germany, Italy, Greece, and Israel. While the presence of Great Britain and the United States in the top two positions is expected, Bulgaria has emerged on the third place, signaling a rising interest in the city. Greek tourists, identified as the most active users, spend the most time on the platform, closely followed by American and British counterparts.

The analysis mentions that British tourists searched the most for Bucharest Christmas Market, Bucharest Therme and Bucharest Fountain Show – Artesian Fountain Show, while American tourists were interested in locations in Bucharest where the “Wednesday” series was filmed, Traditional Romanian dishes and online guide of Bucharest.
