The Bucharest National Opera prepares for the final representation of the season

At the end of almost nine months of activity, the Bucharest National Opera prepares to close its gates with the final representation of the season through the final spectacle: Verdi’s Aida.

The spectacle’s distribution will include two soloists from abroad: Bulgarian mezzo-soprano Elena Chavdarova (as Amneris) and Romanian tenor performing in Germany Daniel Magdal (Radames). Together will be, the Opera’s artists will perform: : Mariana Colpos (Aida), Marius Bolos (The King), Horia Sandu (Ramfis), tefan Ignat (Amonasro), Liviu Indricau ( The Messenger), Dorina Chesei (The High Priestess) and ballet soloists Madalina Slateanu, Magdalena Radulescu, Alin Gheorghiu. They will be accompanied by the Opera’s orchestra and choir, coordinated by Stelian Olariu. Conductor of the entire spectacle will be Alexandru Samoila.

The opera is dedicated to one of the most important Romanian mezzo-sopranos: Iulia Buciuceanu, a laureate of several international competitions: The International Canto Contest in Vienna (1959), The Prague Spring (1960), The International Festival in Sofia and the Helsinki Opera Festival (1962) and winner of the grand prize in Toulouse International Canto Competition (1962). Throughout her career, she was also remarked through her performances in France, the former Yugoslavia, Russia, Finland, China, The Czech Republic, Mongolia, Bulgaria, among others.

Tickets can be purchased directly at Opera’s box office or online at www.bilet.ro. Phone reservations may not be made. Payment is made in cash or by credit card. The box office is open from Monday to Sunday, 9.00 a.m.– 1.00 p.m. and 3.00 p.m. – 7.00 p.m. Information about tickets for the performances can be obtained at NOB phone number +4021 313 18 57.
