The Cultural Austrian Forum and the Romanian Peasant Museum are organizing “At the Countryside”, a photo exhibition comprising 136 photos taken by Manfred Willmann between 1983 and 1991, presenting instant shots of the Austrian countryside.
Willmann’s work showcases 136 pictures taken between 1983 and 1991 in Austria. When taking the photograps, Willmann depicted both the beautiful aspects, as well as the less aesthetical ones, using a special technique focusing on light effects.
Willmann was born in 1952 in Graz, Austria, which is where he continues to work a freelance artist. In 2009 he was awarded the National Prize for Photography. His work is characterized by the desire to get rid of ideology and also has a strong documentary component.
The exhibition, which was previously shown in Viena, Madrid, Osaka, Zagreb and Amsterdam, opens on July 8 and closes on August 28, at the Romanian Peasant Museum, in the Oaspeti hall.
