TedX announces lineup for Iasi event

TEDx Iasi 2011 will take place on the 9th of July at Hotel Unirea. Eight speakers from various domains, such as medicine, media, advertising, art, entrepreneurship and education are announced to take to the stage through this event.

Among them, journalist Carmen Avram, actor Liviu Smantanica, journalist and PR professional Dana Tudor, designer and art director Marius Ursache, Dr. Iulian Zonenstain and actress Alina Serban. Further information, including registration details, may be found on TedX Iasi’s website.

The first TED event was organized back in 1984 in the US, where it started out as a conference that brought together people from three distinct fields: technology, entertainment and design. Thus TED. Today, TED has turned into a global network of conferences curated by the American private nonprofit Sapling Foundation. The TEDx program (x stands for independently organized event) was initiated, giving local community members the chance to organize their own “TED-like” events under a license.
