Sale exhibition for charity opens at Geology Museum

California native Kathy Kavalec who opened the exhibition is a lifelong photographer and world traveler who published her first photo on the cover of American Girl Magazine at 12. Her career in the United States Foreign Service allows her to travel all over the world with her camera. Since 2005, as the Cultural Attache of the United States Embassy in Bucharest, she has traveled extensively around Romania. Her photos of Romania have been published in the Insight Guide and the National Geographic Traveler, and exhibited at the Astra Film Festival Photo Exhibit in Sibiu in 2006 and 2007.
The exhibition will stay open until July 31, during which time visitors can purchase a picture of their liking. All the proceeds will be donated to Asociatia Ovidiu Rom to support children at risk for abandoning school.
