Romanian Cultural Institute partners with George Enescu Philharmonic for Bucharest series of concerts

Blowers ensemble London Winds led by clarinet player Michael Collins, the Ten Tors Orchestra, Jordi Savall and Hesperion XXI will be in Bucharest starting October as part of the second edition of the ICR Camera Music Season at the Athenaeum, a partnership project between the Romanian Cultural Institute and the George Enescu Philharmonic.

The series of concerts starts on October 18 with a recital by the London Winds, lead by clarinet player Michael Collins. The program includes works by Bartok, Braber, Mozart, Jean-Michel Damase, Farkas Ferenc and Dan Dediu.

On November 22, the UK Ten Tors Orchestra, conducted by Simon Ible, will be present at the Romanian Atheneum together with soloists Ladislau Csendes, Alexandru Matei, Sorin Rotaru and Florian Mitrea. The program includes works by George Enescu and Dorina Rotaru.

On December 7, the Atheneum will host a musical project titled Istanbul. Dimitrie Cantemir, featuring Jordi Savall, Montserrat Figueras, Hespèrion XXI and guest musicians from Turkey.

The five members of the London Winds ensemble and conductor Simon Ible will also deliver master classes at the National Music University in Bucharest.
