Romanian Athenaeum enters European patrimony

The list is open not only to historical buildings but also to places bearing historical significance to member states of the European Union.
Other buildings on the list are Cluny Abbey, Palace of the Popes in Avignon, the Acropolis in Athens and Goethe's house in Frankfurt. More Romanian sites to be added in the coming months are the sculptor Constantin Brancusi's monument ‘Heroes' Way' in Targu Jiu, the Cantacuzino Palace in Bucharest and the Histria fortress.
