After being shown at several international film festivals, among which the Locarno one, Crulic- the path to beyond (Crulic- drumul spre dincolo), the first Romanian animation film in the past 20 years, will be shown in local cinemas starting October 21. The film is written, directed and produced by Anca Damian and narrated by Vlad Ivanov and Jamie Sives. It tells the real story of Claudiu Crulic, a Romanian arrested in Poland for an alleged theft, kept in prison despite evidence that he was outside of Poland at the time the crime was committed, and abandoned until his death after a hunger strike.
