Singureni Manor Equestrian Retreat announces the opening of “La Hambar” Restaurant

Starting from January 25, 2023, lovers of fine dining experiences are invited to La Hambar to rediscover the old Romanian tastes interpreted by Executive Chef Alexandru Dumitru in a modern, original way. La Hambar will operate in a former stable set up on the Singureni Manor Equestrian Retreat grounds and aims to offer unique culinary experiences in the middle of the forest, in the vicinity of the horses.

Nestled in the middle of the forest in a former stable on the Singureni Manor equestrian estate, the restaurant forms a space-time continuum of stories, emotions, sensations, and memories waiting to be discovered. The menu at La Hambar will be curated under the magic wand of Executive Chef Alexandru Dumitru, designated, in June 2019, “Chef of the Year” by Gault&Millau Romania. In 2019, Alexandru Dumitru was included in the World 50 Best Discovery as one of the most influential chefs of modern Romanian gastronomy. With an international experience in restaurants awarded by the Michelin Guide, both in the USA and in Europe, Alex is one of the Chefs who returned to Romania intending to put modern Romanian cuisine on the world’s gastronomic map.

La Hambar’s team also includes other passionate professionals: Maître de Maison – Octavian Gruianu and Sous Chef – Floris Agafitei.

The modern Romanian culinary approach offered by Chef Alexandru means traditions and rituals reinvented and relived in an ultra-contemporary environment. The restaurant proposes a 10-course tasting menu that changes seasonally and features ingredients grown in Singureni Manor’s garden or from trusted local farmers.

“My menu at La Hambar is the never-ending story between people who inspired and shaped me and those memories we share throughout the years. It is also the story of the people who nourished the forest at Singureni Manor and made it a home for you and me. Every season will have a story, with the goal for you, my dear guest, to connect with the season, connect with me and finish the puzzle together. This is the promise of my unique 10 courses degustation menu.” declares Executive Chef Alexandru Dumitru.

The restaurant offers guests an impressive wine cellar with over 350 selected wine labels and an investment of over 100,000 Euros. The wines are carefully selected from the most important wine regions of the world, some of them being limited editions, others with big names, but each being unique in its own way.

La Hambar restaurant will be open Wednesday to Friday for dinner, starting at 5.30 pm and Saturday for lunch (1 pm to 3.30 pm) and dinner  (5.30 pm to 9 pm),

Reservation at the restaurant is open for non-resident guests; they can book online on the Superb Experience reservation platform, which is integrated into the website www.lahambar.com. The customers can stay overnight in one of the two locations Paul’s Horses or Paul’s Lodge. Bookings can be made through Singureni Manor’s website www.singurenimanor.com.
