Rasnov Citadel returned to local community, hosts film festival

Newsroom 26/07/2010 | 13:14

After going through a controversial period of private ownership, Rasnov Citadel was returned to the local community in May. Between the return date and this month, emergency reparations have been underway to ready the monument for the second edition of the Festival of Historic Film, between August 6 and August 15.

The event will showcase historical films on subjects such as the life of Romania’s Queen Mary and the Second World War, as well as the most recent historical productions across Europe. The Festival of Historic Film aims to help “resurrect the area’s cultural and touristic potential and to consecrate Rasnov as a refuge for history, art and nature”. Access to the festival is free of charge. More information on www.ffir.ro.
